Meet Dr. Jacquetta Haygood
It is my pleasure to introduce myself! I have been married 27 years to my husband, Norvis Haygood, a retired Army Audiologist. I have two wonderful children, Keelan (Army Veteran) and Keeambre (Senior at Prairie View A & M University). I attend and serve faithfully at Point of Light Church in Cedar Hill, Texas as the Director of the Adult Praise Dance Team for the past 10 years.
My philosophy of leadership centers on the belief that my leadership style should be able to inspire, educate and empower others to be creative and self-directed in their own choices and ambitions. I consider my leadership skills to be impeccable in regards to my integrity, trustworthiness, and my ability to contribute, enhance, and change the dynamics of processes that results with favorable outcomes. I am a change agent, an influencer, and I model what is expected by leading by example.
I have been fortunate enough to be positioned professionally with a career in public school education as a:
– Special Education Para Professional (1 year)
– High School Special Education Teacher (14 years)
– High School Assistant Principal (14 years)
– Elementary School Principal (4 years).

Having lived in Cedar Hill for 11 years and raised children who benefited from the academic excellence of our district, I am both invested in and passionate about our schools’ success.
As a school board trustee, I will work tirelessly to ensure every student has access to the quality education they deserve. I will bring a unique perspective to the role of School Board Trustee. My commitment to education, community, and student success drives my vision for a stronger and more inclusive School District for Cedar Hill.
